Yeah, when politicians from either party think they smell industry campaign contributions, they are likely to throw the baby out with the bath water in these kinds of legislations. Which is the main reason for the present copyright law morass. Also, it might help if
politicians actually read the bills they voted on.

Don't be so hard on the politicians.
They look at the bills, the pictures of Lincoln, Franklin, Jackson etc...
